What is fire stopping?

Fire stopping is the process of safeguarding joints, imperfections and openings that could allow the passage of fire and smoke in a construction. It addresses any element that could compromise the integrity of a fire-resistant structure – going beyond simply insulating the service lines.

 

 

Is fire sealant heat resistant?

ROCKWOOL sealant products are all heat resistant, and designed to provide up to four hours of effective fire protection. Stone wool is resistant to temperatures up to and over 1000°C.

Fire stop sealant is used to close off gaps and openings between walls, floors or ceilings. This aims to prevent the spread of fire and smoke and maintain a building’s safety standards.
